Certificate in Digital Video Production

This course is a fast track for students who wish to produce their own films or VDO clips. Class are designed to include creative and interactive learning experiences. After the course, students should be able to perfect their use of digital cameras and other components of film production such as basic lighting, editing and production management.

Prerequistes
  • No skill prerequisites are required to participate in this program.
  • Basic knowledge of the English language and computer skills are needed.
  • Must bring own digital camera.
Final Project Screening

Students will screen their final projects to receive peer review and comments from the instructor.

Module Overview

3 months, 12 lessons * 3 hours/lesson
Introduction to Film

This class is an introduction to digital video theory. From digital camera operations and other tools to the concepts of cinematic design and practical scriptwriting, students will be empowered to start their own projects.

Camera Theory and Workshop

This class is an introduction to digital video theory, digital camera operations, other tools, and cinematic design. It is also a practical class in which students will learn the technical skills to create simple video recordings.

Lighting Theory and Workshop

In this class, students will learn about cinematic light and how to create different moods and tones for short films.

Directing Actors

In this class, students will learn how to direct actors in front of the camera and manage a small film set as a director.

Introduction to Editing and Post-Production Workflow

This class is an introduction to editing programs. Students will learn to edit a video clip or a short movie, as they go through standard post-production workflow procedures.
