Research Centre

Crème Academy’s Research Centre is a separate division within the academy that focuses on conducting and supplying media research (as well as affiliated areas of research) to educational institutions and private companies.

Among the division’s areas of expertise and services are the following:
    • Qualitative and quantitative research into the aesthetic, technological, and business development of broadcast media, film production, online media platforms, audio development, audience studies, programming development, social and cultural impacts, and historical developments in multimedia.
    • Cooperative study ventures with leading international academic institutions, international governmental and non-governmental organizations, and individual scholars and researchers.
    • Film and television productions pertaining to cultural and social developments.
    • Finished studies for publication by leading academic presses and journals.
    • Media consultancy, specifically targeted towards production and business, marketing, and public relations.
    • A media archive and academic journals access point for research center associates and clients.
  • Research that is also accessible in Thai.

The Research Centre’s mission is to provide a bridge between industry and educational pursuits, with academic research projects or products with the below characteristics:

    • Academic integrity and originality. The centre does not produce works that merely collate and redistribute information from other sources. Research Centre activities, instead, are built around innovative analyses and assembling of heretofore unresearched subjects and data sources.
    • Employment of an interdisciplinary methodology that draws upon a variety of approaches and specialities to generate results that can be applied across industry and academia.
    • Both traditional applications of research that are based on acquired knowledge and skills, as well as performance-based research that applies such knowledge and skills toward practical applications.
    • Publication and production of research that has marketable and academic value.
  • Working towards creating a thriving “community of knowledge” for media, bringing together academics and people in the business.

The Research Centre also offers classes in research methods, applications, and writing for both educational and business clients. Classes are conducted at three levels:

    • Graduate level research methods and writing classes that offer existing graduate students the opportunity to hone and sharpen their research skills, as well as assist in the refinement of English language skills applied to research for eventual publication in international journals or other academic publications.
    • Existing undergraduate students enrolled in Crème Academy’s diploma course in digital film making or audio engineering. This diploma can then be applied to Crème’s educational partner, Wolverhampton University in the United Kingdom, for two years of credits towards a degree in media studies. These classes also include work towards improving written and oral English.
  • High school or other students seeking to improve their research and English language skills before applying to international study in Thailand or abroad.
